Made with love in Apsaalooke Country.

Hello my name is Corey D Whiteman I’m 18 years old and I come from the Crow/Apsaalooke and Assiniboine/Nakota tribes. My Apsaalooke name is goes through bad times but comes out good given to me by my uncle Del Lavedure. I am a member of the Greasy mouth clan and child of the Whistling water clan. I reside on the crow reservation in Pryor MT where I spend most of my days doing the art work of beading. I was taught to bead by my maternal grandmother Norma bell-whiteman who did phenomenal bead work for all her grandchildren growing up. Most of my bead work designs come from traditional Apsaalooke and Nakota geometric and floral designs. When I’m not beading I find myself drawing traditional tribal designs I find it calming and soothing. Being a fashion designer was always something I wanted to do since I was a little boy but I never thought it was possible because I was a Native American Male and the world growing up said that us natives are incompetent people and that we can’t achieve anything but that is false us natives are strong intelligent people and that is one of the reasons I wanted to become a fashion designer to show that us native people are strong, intelligent, beautiful, creative people and most of all WERE STILL HERE. When you shop at Devontéy designs remember that you are shopping indigenous and your helping support a small business thank you and Ahó yours truly Devontéy
